Guarantee of Quality
Arbroath Fisheries guarantees that all products supplied to customers are of the highest quality.
Arbroath Fisheries accepts all major credit and debit cards (no minimum) and uses a secure payment system, WorldPay.
Arbroath Fisheries makes every effort to ensure our products arrive in perfect condition. Due to the perishable nature of the products, Arbroath Fisheries does not accept returned goods. Please see the Refund section below.
Refunds for products are at the discretion of Arbroath Fisheries unless the goods are found to be faulty in which case the goods should be returned and either a replacement will be issued or a full refund will be given. Refunds will be paid by cheque.
Delivery Methods & Times
Arbroath Fisheries deliveries are made by courier for delivery the next day within the UK mainland. We will deliver our products in specially designed containers to anywhere in the mainland UK. Any order placed before noon, Monday to Thursday will be delivered the next working day. Any orders made after 12 noon on Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday will be despatched on Monday for delivery on Tuesday.
Lone Star and Faithful orders will be sent by Royal Mail first class post.
Deliveries to the Scottish Highlands and Islands, Northern Ireland, Isle of Wight and Isle of Man will be made by Royal Mail Standard Parcel Service (3-5 days).
It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that they are available to take delivery of the goods at the appropriate time or to make alternative arrangements. Goods which cannot be delivered will be taken back to the courier depot and a card will be left asking the customer to contact them to arrange a suitable time for the delivery to be made.
Deliveries may be delayed due to circumstances out with the control of Arbroath Fisheries such as Bank Holidays and fish shortages; where possible details of these will be posted on the website or we will endeavour to advise by email.
International deliveries are sent as a small packet by Royal Mail airmail. This service does not offer a tracking facility therefore goods are sent at the customers own risk. Arbroath Fisheries cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage during transit. Arbroath Fisheries will take all reasonable steps to ensure the package is secure and suitable for shipping the goods. To the US this will normally take around 1 week. Any import duty incurred is the responsibility of the buyer.
Packaging and Shelf Life and Storage
All our products are vacuum packed and smoked fish has a shelf life of 2 weeks from the date of despatch, goods should be refrigerated upon receipt. Products are suitable for home freezing and should be frozen on the day of receipt for up to 6 months; defrost overnight in the fridge as required.
Retention of Title
This remains with Arbroath Fisheries until the goods are paid for in full.
These are included in the product price for delivery within the UK. Additional charge for international deliveries is calculated at the checkout and is based on weight.
Application of Value Added Tax (VAT)
Fish is not liable for VAT.
Upon submitting an order using our automated shopping basket system, with payment made through the secure server of Worldpay, customer will have the ability to print a receipt from the website at the time of purchase. An email will also be sent to the customer with their order details.
Arbroath Fisheries are committed to protecting your privacy. We will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully (in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998). We collect information about you for 2 reasons: firstly, to process your order and second, to provide you with the best possible service. Arbroath Fisheries will not e-mail you in the future unless you have given us your consent. Arbroath Fisheries will give you the chance to refuse any marketing email from us in the future. The type of information we will collect about you includes: your name, address, phone number, email address, credit/debit card details.

While every effort will be made to meet shoppers demands, cancellations or variations may be necessary as a result of Act of God, War, Strike, Lockout, Labour Dispute, Fire, Flood, Drought or other causes beyond the control of Arbroath Fisheries.
If you have a complaint please contact us immediately by e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone 01241 872331. All complaints will be acknowledged within one working day. Any complaint will be dealt with fairly, effectively and confidentially. These complaints will be dealt within seven working days.
Additional Terms for Tartan Products
Goods available from stock are normally despatched within 48 hours of your order being received. We will advise by return email if there is going to be any significant delay to your order. Made to measure and special order items will normally take 4-5 weeks and we will email you when your order is ready to be sent.
Prices include delivery by 1st Class Post within the UK and by small air packet for the rest of the world.
Overseas orders can be delivered by small air packet worldwide, but this service offers no tracking or insurance cover so goods are sent at the customers own risk.
From the date of shipment you have 30 days to evaluate your purchase. Provided it has not been damaged or worn (other than to try a garment on) you may return it in the original packaging for a full refund. This applies to all goods except made to measure (including cut fabrics) that will only be exchanged or refunded if defective in some way or they do not conform to the details advertised on our site, subject to the qualifications below. This does not affect your legal rights.
We make every attempt to ensure that the information on our website is as accurate as possible. Some products may display larger or smaller than their actual size and colour representation may vary from computer screen to computer screen.
If you wish to return an item please contact us beforehand so we can make the appropriate arrangements. We will only refund the return postage costs if the goods are in some way faulty.
MADE TO MEASURE GARMENTS:
Measurements for these items are the responsibility of the customer. We have provided where possible guidelines and help points for these to be taken. If a made to measure garment requires alteration all costs, including additional postage, will be payable by the customer. Garments will be altered free of charge if they are found not to match the measurements originally provided by the customer.
Anyone dealing as a trader or in the course of their trade or business agrees to be subject to the jurisdiction of the Courts of Scotland.
These terms and conditions do not affect your statutory rights.
